PRC Acknowledgement and Disclaimer for PRC Materials

We would like to let you know that in the terms and conditions of your notice of award from CDC’s PGO, all communications produced under a CDC cooperative agreement must bear an acknowledgment and disclaimer, as appropriate. This requirement applies to SIPs as well. The award document recommends the following statements:

Purpose of Acknowledgement

We recommend additional standard wording for making reference to CDC and the PRC Program in printed materials, booklets, in presentations, (including presentation announcements and slides), and on Web sites. A correct and complete acknowledgment will accomplish at least three things:

  • Ensures the program is appropriately credited for work it supports.
  • Helps the PRC office track research results in the published literature.
  • Prevents misuse of identifiers, which reflects poorly on the program.

Cooperative agreement number

Please acknowledge the PRC Program by name and cooperative agreement number on all communications (such as presentations, websites, scientific posters, and brochures) concerning core, special interest, and other-funded projects associated with your PRC. We recommend that even for research largely supported by other funders, the PRC Program be credited for that contribute to the project. Therefore, please acknowledge the PRC Program and the cooperative agreement in the list of supporters.

“This publication [report, survey instrument, journal article, etc.] is a product of the West Virginia Prevention Research Center and was supported by Cooperative Agreement Number 1-U48-DP-005004 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The findings and conclusions in this report [journal article, etc.] are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent the official position of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”
