Public Health assistant professor recognized nationally for contributions to health education

Heather Henderson, EdD, assistant professor of Health Policy, Management & Leadership and Director of Accreditation, Planning & Evaluation for the West Virginia University School of Public Health, has been named the 2022 recipient of the Ann E. Nolte Writing Award by the Foundation for the Advancement of Health Education's (FAHE). 

This award recognizes authors or organizations that make a significant contribution to the profession of health education and promotion through a publication focused on (a) the future of health education and health promotion, (b) philosophical/ethical issues, or (c) history relevant to the profession.  

Dr. Henderson was recognized for her work on "Competency Focused Versus Philosophically Grounded Health Promotion Practice: Impacts on Innovation and Addressing Health Inequities."

Presented annually, FAHE selects authors of a publication who make a significant contribution to the profession of health education and promotion in the fields of pedagogy, philosophy and the future of health education.

Henderson was recognized during the Society for Public Health Education 2023 Annual Conference.
