Faculty, staff and students on all campuses will be unable to log into many important services requiring WVU login credentials 8 a.m. to noon Sunday (Oct. 2) during quarterly security patching to the single sign-on system.

Affected services will  include but are not limited to:

Portal; STAR and STAR-related systems;  eCampus;  MAP;  Applaud;  Salesforce; High Performance Computing; Kuali (WVU+kc); WVU Hire (Taleo); Mountaineer Marketplace;  MyExpenses;  FTP and bulk mailing services such as LISTSERV; plus Zoom meetings that require a WVU login.

The login.wvu.edu self-service site will also be unavailable, so you will be unable to claim accounts, change passwords, generate Duo codes, or update your recovery contact information during this time.

Several services that authenticate through a different system (Active Directory, ADFS)  should be available, including:

the WVU.Encrypted, WVU.Guest  and  WVU.Play wireless networks;  Virtual Private Network (VPN);  Microsoft 365 services, including Teams and Outlook; SharePoint; the 25 Live room reservation system; and the SOLE system at Health Sciences.

College and department IT directors should be prepared to validate applications they manage after this maintenance is finished.

It is common to see an error message when trying to log in after a system update. If you have problems once this work has been completed, try  clearing your  web browser  history, closing your  web browser  and relaunching it. Rebooting your device will also  clear cached pages.

If you still have problems after taking these steps, please call the ITS Service Desk 304-293-4444.
