Guidelines & Tips: Submissions for (SURPRISE) Tribute Video

Deadline for submissions: Tuesday, June 23

Video

  • Film a short (less than 20 seconds) message using your smartphone.
    • Please keep the phone horizontal (landscape).
    • Record in a spot that is relatively quiet.
    • Pick a spot where there is no bright light behind you.
    • Hold the phone at about eye level.
  • You can also use Zoom to record your message.
    • To record yourself on Zoom, start a new meeting (you do not need to invite anyone else) and click the ‘record’ button at the bottom of the Zoom window. When you’re finished recording your message, click ‘stop recording’ and end the meeting. Once you end the meeting, the recording will be saved to your computer. Audio

  • Record a short (less than 20 seconds) message using an app on your smartphone. iPhone users can utilize Voice Memos and Android users can download a free version of Smart Voice Recorder if they do not have a standard voice recorder app.
  • Record in a spot that is relatively quiet.
  • Hold the phone about a foot away from your face.

Photo(s)

  • If you have photos you’d like to share, feel free to submit those. Please include a brief message that we can use to accompany the photo.
  • If possible, include a brief description of the photo (e.g., approximate date, location, event, etc.)
  • Selfies also welcome. Take a photo of yourself holding a sign with words of congratulations.

Written

  • Send us a few short sentences to be included in the video.
