Applying to the M.S. in Population Health Program: Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Make sure you have the necessary requirements:
    • Transcripts
    • Personal Statement
    • Resume/CV
    • At least two letters of recommendation
  2. Go to the WVU graduate admissions website: https://graduateadmissions.wvu.edu/how-to-apply
  3. Click Apply Now
  4. Click Sign Up, then create a username and password. (For those with WVU credentials: This site does not use your University credentials to log you in, therefore you must create an account to apply.)
  5. You will receive an email with your username and instructions on how to create a password.
  6. Use your new credentials to sign in.
  7. Start a New Application. For the following prompts, please select the following:
    • To which program delivery method are you applying?
      • Select Online
    • What type of student are you?
      • Select Masters
    • To which program are you applying?
      • Select Health Administration* (*The U.S. Department of Education has yet to issue the final degree coding for the MS in Population Health program. In order to enroll for Fall 2021 and be eligible for financial aid, please apply to the Health Administration (MHA) program (also fully online with similar costs). When the code is confirmed by the university in Fall 2021, we will formally switch everyone into the MS in Population Health. You will enroll in courses as if you were taking the MS degree. Any minor differences in costs will be credited to the student account at that time. Please contact the SPH admissions team with any questions.)
