A NOTE FROM OUR NEW DIRECTOR
West Virginia welcomed me this week with rain. Although the sky may be overcast, the rain is nurturing new growth and nourishing the earth. OLLI does the same for us, feeding our curiosity, imagination, and desire for knowledge.
I come to OLLI at WVU with a passion for learning and a history in the lifelong pursuit. Just two short weeks ago, I was the program manager for the OLLI at the University of Montana, an opportunity made possible by returning to school later in life and changing careers after 30 years in theatre. Although Montana is certainly a beautiful place to live, when the opportunity to move to Morgantown arose, I jumped at it. My affinity for the lush hills and winding roads in the region runs deep, reminding me of my childhood years spent in southern Ohio along the river. It feels right to be so much closer to home.
I am honored to be a part of this vibrant organization and look forward to getting to know each of you. I want to learn the history of OLLI at WVU and hear what you consider the strengths and weaknesses of the program so that we may continue to provide the best possible experiences for our members to learn together. My office door is usually open so please stop by to say hi!
