Additional COVID-19 testing options for students based in Morgantown

In response to West Virginia University’s decision to implement a phased return to campus this fall, WVU is providing students based in Morgantown with additional options for the required* COVID-19 testing.**

Date: Monday, Aug. 17 –Saturday, Aug. 22

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: WVU Student Recreation Center and Mountainlair

Testing Provider: Quest Diagnostics

Registration for these testing dates/times will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to sign up today via StarRez (WVU’s housing portal): myhousing.wvu.edu

Click the Login button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. WVU login credentials and a WVUID number are required to register for testing. You can claim your account, reset your password, or find your WVUID number at login.wvu.edu. View detailed instructions on the registration process.

If you previously registered for an earlier testing date/time and want to reschedule for one of these later options, you should:

  1. Log into myhousing.wvu.edu.
  2. Select COVID-19 Testing.
  3. Select Continue.
  4. Select Schedule an Appointment at the top of your confirmation page.
  5. Follow the prompts to cancel your appointment and reschedule.

As a reminder, COVID-19 testing is free and will be required for those students who will be taking on-campus courses and/or using on-campus resources (e.g., libraries, dining facilities, transportation, etc.).

The University also strongly recommends any student returning to Morgantown — regardless of their course schedule — be tested to assist in preventing community and campus spread. If you will not be on campus at all due to your new class schedule, testing will be voluntary but strongly encouraged.

You should receive your test results within three to five days after testing. Be sure to create a Quest account to view your results once they are available.

Note: Students will not be permitted to attend classes on campus until they receive their test results. If you have to miss a class because you are awaiting your results, please contact your instructor to make any necessary arrangements.

Visit the Return to Campus website for more information and the latest COVID-19 updates. Contact WVU Shared Services at sharedservices@mail.wvu.edu or 304-293-6006 with any questions.

* For students, failure to take the COVID-19 test will result in a $250 fee being added to a student's account. For employees, if you fail to take the COVID-19 test by Aug. 22, you will be subject to employee disciplinary actions until you take the test including, but not limited to, being placed on administrative leave without pay and/or being placed on administrative leave while using your annual leave.

** Testing information regarding patients is regulated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines and will be kept confidential.
