American Heart Association invites West Virginians to get active during Move More Month

The American Heart Association wants to get West Virginians walking during Move More Month. West Virginia leads the nation in high blood pressure, which is a potential path to heart disease and stroke.

The AHA reports 44% of West Virginians have high blood pressure, so the organization is asking residents to help in walking 4,400 miles in four weeks.

Every Sunday, participants can update the AHA on the number of miles walked by sending an email to WVHEARTWALK@heart.org. Also, make sure to tag the AHA in any photos shared to social media with tags #AHAWV and #MoveMore.

Whether it's around your yard, on a treadmill or safely distancing in your neighborhood, the AHA encourages everyone to get out and get walking!
