Bees - The Most Important Species on Earth

Learn more about how you can help save the world's bees in the upcoming OLLI class, Beekeeping, with Dr. Lewis Cook.

An introduction to beekeeping, the class will include the need to keep bees, where to get bees, equipment needed and parameters for locating bees. The types of honey bees will be described. Laws and regulations involved with beekeeping will be explained. Problems with bee health and diseases along with treatment will be presented. Organizations and help with beekeeping along with suggested references will be provided.

Beekeeping will be held Monday, October 28, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Schoenbaum Center. Seats are still available. Call 304-293-1793 to register.
