CENTENNIAL WALKS TO REMEMBER
The Kanawha Valley Village People will be supporting a program honoring the memory of Booker T. Washington on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from approximately 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. This includes a welcome amd memorial service at the African Zion Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, a Walk to the site where the family integrated the town in 1869, just four years after they were slaves, a walk from the Booker T. Washington Park to the sister Amanda Johnson Home site, a walk to the Hale House and reception, a walk from the Craik-Patton House to the Washington Monument at the State Capitol where there will also be the closing ceremony!
