Commencement regalia, attendance information

Regalia

Regalia must be worn in order to participate in Commencement. If you have not already ordered your official WVU regalia from Herff Jones, please visit the Mountainlair bookstore to order.

Open your regalia when you receive it and review it for accuracy (i.e., Did you receive what you ordered? Is it correct per your major?). Please let our Herff Jones consultant, Vince Rodi (vjrodi@herffjones.com), know if you have any questions as soon as possible.

Information about regalia colors is available on the School of Public Health Commencement web page.

To look your best for graduation day, follow these easy steps to preparing your cap and gown for graduation day. From initially removing the gown from the bag, to removing any wrinkles from the gown, to properly wearing the gown, cap and tassel – these tips will help you get ready for the big day.

Clear Bag Policy

To provide a safer environment and to ease entry into event venues, a Clear Bag Policy has been implemented for all commencement ceremonies. Everyone in attendance must adhere to the policy.

WVU’s Clear Bag Policy limits the size and type of bags that guests may bring into an event venue. View the list of approved bags.

Please remind your guests ahead of time of the Clear Bag Policy.

Umbrellas are not permitted in the stadium. Graduates will be provided a clear poncho in the event of rain. Guests should bring a jacket or poncho.

If it’s sunny day, don’t forget your sunscreen.

What to Expect

Only registered graduates and ticketed guests will be able to enter Milan Puskar Stadium. Digital tickets must be presented on a mobile device when entering the facility and masks/face coverings are required to be worn at all times.

It is recommended that guests arrive five minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. Graduates will process into the stadium and have their names read at the beginning of the ceremony.

For information about parking, guest and graduate entry, safety guidelines and more, visit the WVU Commencement website.

Live Feed

Each ceremony will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. The webcast link will go live a few minutes prior to ceremony time.
