DIRECTOR'S NOTE: May 20, 2016
The bright sunshine and warm temperatures of yesterday afternoon were calling back to the open highway and the great outdoors, urging me to explore my new environment. My favorite activities in any new town are to seek out the local historical and culture sites and hike through the beautiful parks in the region.
A visit to a park seems especially appropriate this summer as our National Park Service celebrates its 100th birthday! So last night I googled national parks in West Virginia and was delighted to find several options. If the rains hold off this weekend, I’ll be off on an adventure!
I’d love to hear about your favorite adventures in West Virginia and our National Parks. Share a picture or two on our Facebook page. Perhaps we should start a hashtag, #OLLIatWVUadventures. And now there’s an idea brewing. Stay tuned. And have a great weekend!
