DIRECTOR'S NOTE - May 5, 2017

Greetings all!

Jim wasn’t able to get a column together this week so I thought I’d say hi! (Jim is fine and will return next week).

As we reach the half-way point of our spring term, I am busy putting together the catalog for an exciting summer term.  In addition to our engaging classes in music, story-telling, science, and more with many of our favorite instructors, OLLI is offering some new partnerships, lively entertainment, and adventurous field trips throughout the summer. If all goes well, the catalog should be at the printer in a couple of weeks and in your mailboxes in just a month.

But spring is not over yet! Many of our current classes are continuing through May 26 and we still have a few starting in the next couple of weeks. It’s not too late to sign up for An Introduction to Self-Publishing with Rae Jean Sielen, Understanding Forest Fires with Anthony Tomkowski, Exploring Your Electronics with Sonja Kelley, Magic Math and Math Magic with Sumitra Reddy, and Wines of the Southern Hemisphere with Bob Craig and Ron Porter.

We have also added a class on Wednesday, June 21, at 3:00 p.m., following the OLLI Annual Meeting. Dr. Robert Harrison, who teaches for OLLI at WVU in Charleston, is coming to Morgantown to talk about William Shakespeare and lead us on a visit to the Shakespeare Collection in WVU’s Rare Book Collection at the Wise Library. Watch for more information!

Have a great weekend!
