Often being compared to Dustin Hoffman’s Tootsie for its satiric look at cross-dressing for a really good cause. Directed by Chris Columbus and based on Madame Doubtfire by Anne Fine, this film also stars Sally Field, Pierce Brosnan, Harvey Fierstein, and Robert Prosky. It won the Academy Award for Best Makeup and the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
