FALL FILM FORUM: October 5, 2016

This weeks Fall Film Forum will view and discuss Dead Poets Society at 3:00 PM in classroom A. Continuing the Robin William Fest from summer, we have the 1989 film that helped cement his reputation as a serious actor.

Written by Tom Schulman, directed by Peter Weir and starring Robin Williams, this film also featured the young Ethan Hawke and Robert Sean Leonard. Set in 1959 at the fictional elite conservative boarding school Welton Academy, it tells the story of an English teacher who inspires his students through his teaching of poetry and famously shouted out “carpe diem,” seize the day!
