The (not really) Weekly Reader from the President

Whether it’s the Animal Friends Thrift Shop or the American Red Cross, volunteers are the lifeblood of almost any non-profit organization.

It’s certainly the case at OLLI at WVU. We wouldn’t exist without some great folks who founded the Appalachian Lifelong Learners and kept it going until it evolved into OLLI. And though we now have a paid full time director (Jae), part time IT “geek” (Michelle), and part time office assistant (Diane), the organization could not exist without volunteers to: host and teach classes; recruit new instructors and new members; serve on the board, committees, and task groups; help out in the office; and assist in a myriad of other ways.

And the Kanawha Valley program would not be thriving without the Charleston Committee, led by Carolyn Atkinson and Kay Goodwin

So “Hat’s Off!” to all the volunteers who help make OLLI at WVU what it is.

We’re all in this together!
