Honoring D. Jane Gilcrist: A Storytelling Concert by the WV Storytelling Guild

The West Virginia Storytelling Guild and the Frank and Jane Gabor WV Folklife will honor the life of D. Jane Gilchrist with a storytelling concert on Saturday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Folklife Center. A reception will follow.

Jane worked at the Folklife Center when she was a student at Fairmont State University. She completed the RBA with an emphasis in folklore and an MA in education. Jane preserved and perpetuated West Virginia’s culture in her work as a weaver and storyteller. She was featured on West Virginia Public Radio’s Inside Appalachia shortly before her death. Please join us as we remember our friend, Jane Gilchrist.
