Important information for May 2022 graduates

Message from Lead Adkins, SPH Senior Program/Commencement Coordinator, to members of the Class of 2022 who will be graduating in May:

On behalf of the School of Public Health, I congratulate you on your upcoming commencement! What an exciting time it will be!

Before I send the email with detailed graduation information, which will include a link to register to participate in the ceremony, I wanted to share some preliminary information with you.

The School of Public Health Graduation Ceremony will be on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 4:00 PM in the Canady Creative Arts Center. See full WVU Commencement schedule here. Please have family and friends mark their calendars, and if traveling into Morgantown, I strongly suggest making hotel reservations now. You can find details about lodging here

If you plan on participating in the ceremony, regalia is required and should be ordered now as it will take a couple of weeks to arrive to you. PLEASE order ASAP if you have not done so already.  Regalia information for each degree and order information can be found on the School of Public Health’s commencement page. Regalia information can be found here

Tickets will not be required for graduating students, nor will they be required for your guests.  There is no limit on how many guests each graduate may invite, but within reason, of course.

Masks: Anyone who prefers wearing a mask is welcomed and encouraged to do so, but we will not be requiring them at this time.  We will still follow University protocols, so if this changes, we will adjust accordingly.

There is ample parking at the Canady Creative Arts Center (CAC) for you, your family, and guests.  The CAC has Accessibility Parking out front from the Main Entrance and Accessibility Seating is available within the theatre.

Please remember: CLEAR BAG POLICY IN EFFECT at the Canady Creative Arts Center.  This includes graduating students, family, friends, all faculty, and all staff.  There are additional guidelines available on the Graduation Website for you and your guests.

I plan on sending the more detailed email out at the beginning of next week, but if you have any questions prior to then, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email.

Looking forward to celebrating this important milestone with you!

Sincerely,

Leah Adkins

P.S.: For those interested in participating, the WVU Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is hosting a Multicultural Graduation Celebration ceremony on Wednesday, April 27, at 6 p.m. in the Gluck Theatre of the Mountainlair. RSVP is required by March 31Learn more here.
