KanawhaValley VillagePeople Gathering

On Wednesday, October 16th KVVP will gather at Edgewood Country Club, WV’s oldest country club, with a reputation for fine food and good cheer. We’ll be taking over the South View Room beginning at 6:15 with gathering and drinks (cash bar) in the adjacent bar at 5:30. There will be entertainment from notable area boomers to accompany this fine dining experience.

Colleen Anderson and George Castelle have been making music together for at least 25 years — singing and playing in living rooms and concert halls, in bookstores and bars, at meetings and festivals. In August, they performed their third concert in Newfoundland.

Colleen owns Mother Wit Writing and Design, a creative studio in Charleston. She writes poems, essays, fiction, nonfiction, and songs. In addition to two collections of original songs, she has published an award-winning children’s novel, Missing: Mrs. Cornblossom, and a poetry chapbook, Bound Stone.

George Castelle has performed in a variety of musical settings since the mid-1960s. He has accompanied Colleen on guitar, and occasionally on piano, since they met in the late 1970s. For several decades, George was the Chief Public Defender in Kanawha County, where he still works on a part-time basis.

Dinner will include a vegetarian option. And the Manna Meal Garden volunteers will be joining us for dinner. Cost is $35.00 per person. RSVP to: Sandra Mitchell at sandmitch4@aol.com.
