OPERA AS DRAMA

Do you enjoy opera? Tuesday starts our Opera as Drama course with Instructor Byron Nelson. Join him at 10:00 AM in classroom A as he discusses the opera opportunities available this fall.

This course offers critical introductions to the five operas in the Met in HD series (presented at the Regal Theatre in Granville) and the two operas staged by Pittsburgh Opera (at the Benedum Center) this Fall.

The goal is to provide a critical analysis of each opera prior to the performance in order to enhance the viewer’s pleasure. The operas will include perennial favorites like Verdi’s La Traviata and a recent, unfamiliar opera, Sariaaho’s L’Amour de Loin.
