PRESIDENT'S CORNER
President’ Corner for February 19, 2016
It’s the day many of us have been dreading…Angela’s final day with OLLI at WVU. It looks to be a quite eventful day—more about that next week—but she has worked long and hard to leave us in very good shape. The spring term catalog is finished and will be ready for print, we have been invited to apply for the Osher grant for development ($25,000 per year for a possible 3 years), funding is approved for several events coming up in the spring and early summer, and the search for a new director is coming along very well, with over 20 applicants to be reviewed and interviews to be held with the finalists in the near future. There is much more, but I frankly don’t know every last detail!
Thank you, Angela, for three and a half years of faithful service, significant progress and many achievements! Our very best wishes for the next steps in your professional career!
A poem written as a comment about poems on work…seems appropriate and sweet:
Each day at work comes different for me.
There’s a book waiting
Challenge me with a prompt
Photo’s on the camera
Need a love touch
Love drawing fashion gowns
Color’s in greens and pink
Spending time with the Father,
Watching his birds dance.
Listening to the cats talk
As birds eat bread crumbs outside.
Waiting for Spring to come.
Looking for wild onions
Seeking out the sun
Warming up my body
Not ready for a run.
Lift our thoughts
Make us whole
Winter go away.
Green spring
Smell the grass
Buds on trees,
That’s my kind of day.
