PROGRAM ACTIVE RESEARCH STUDY

The WVU School of Medicine, in cooperation with Indiana University, is conducting a study for people with type 2 diabetes and depression called Program ACTIVE (Appalachians Coming Together to Increase Vital Exercise).  The study will compare the effectivness of exercise and talk therapy on depression in people who've had type 2 diabetes for at least one year.  Those eligible for the study are assigned to one of four treatment group:  Exercise, talk therapy, talk therapy + exercise, or usual care.
