ScribeAmerica hiring, Mon Health Medical Center

Pre-health students interested in gaining more clinical experience should consider applying to become a medical scribe for ScribeAmerica. One of the greatest benefits of being a scribe is being able to have one-on-one interaction with board-certified emergency medicine physicians, who, by the nature of their practice, utilize the expertise of multiple specialties (including cardiology, neurology, infectious disease medicine, etc.). Additionally, scribes are able to witness patient care from start to finish by documenting the history of each patient evaluated, the doctor’s physical examination, the results of laboratory/radiological studies ordered, and the eventual diagnosis and disposition. Through these responsibilities as a scribe, students are given first rate exposure to medical terminology, disease processes, emergency procedures, medications, and the medical decision making process performed by physicians.

Training is paid and very conducive to one's success as a scribe, later a medical student, and even a resident. The weekly commitment is 16 hours per week year-round, including over breaks. The site is located at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, WV.
