Global Brigades fundraiser Wed., Feb. 5
Help provide support for this year's Public Health Global Brigades trip to Panama by visiting Mario's Fishbowl on Richwood Avenue this Wednesday, February 5, from 4-8 p.m. The location will donate 20 percent of sales during the evening in support of WVU Public Health Global Brigades. (This offer is only valid at the Richwood Avenue location.)
The group will be traveling to Panama during Spring Break in March. During the Public Health Brigades, volunteers develop sustainable health solutions and establish a standard of health quality by emphasizing prevention and education. The Public Health Brigades achieves this goal by implementing in-home infrastructure projects, providing health education and engaging community members. Each public health brigade will have an opportunity to work with individual families, local schools and community leaders with a focus on holistic and preventative health measures on both an individual and community-wide scale. On the trip, group members accumulate ~100 hours of community service.
