The Public Health Dialogues Speaker Series presents “Transgender veterans and the suicide risk in the Veterans Health Administration”

DELTA OMEGA HONORARY SOCIETY IN PUBLIC HEALTH SPONSORED SPEAKER

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – On Friday, February 12, 2016 at 12:15 p.m., The Public Health Dialogues Speaker Series and the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health will host John R Blosnich, PhD, who is a Research Health Scientist with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Center for Health; Equity Research; and Promotion in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The presentation will focus on “Transgender veterans and the suicide risk in the Veterans Health Administration.” Dr. Blosnich will discuss reasons for the high prevalence of transgender Veterans in the Veterans Health Administration and describe suicidal risk and suicide mortality among transgender VHA veterans.

The event will take place in the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center North, Room 1905.  Lunch will start at 12:00 p.m. and the event will begin at 12:15 p.m.

The series is free and open to the public. The Public Health Dialogues Speaker Series is sponsored by the Office of Public Health Practice and Workforce Development within the West Virginia University School of Public Health. This Office is a Local Performance Site of the Region III, Mid-Atlantic Regional Public Health Training Center funded by HRSA.
