Undergraduate Teaching Practicum available for juniors and seniors
If you are a junior (60 - 90 credits) or senior (90+ credits) and have a professor you would love to work with, a class that you particularly enjoyed, or want to have teaching experience on your resume, you would be a good candidate for a teaching practicum.
The purpose of an Undergraduate Teaching Practicum is to allow the student to gain introductory insight into and experience with preparing class content for a college level course and to provide faculty with supplemental instructional support.
A few more details:
- The Teaching Practicum (PUBH 490) is for the same number of credits as the course, is graded and has assignments that the student and the instructor will agree upon.
- Teaching Practicum students must attend all classes, and a Teaching Practicum contract (available upon request) must be completed by the start of the semester. Students are graded by the instructor, based on the contract.
- The Teaching Practicum counts as a general or free elective and may be added to your schedule if you register for less than 18 credits in any given semester.
- Requirements include:
- 3.0 GPA
- Previous completion of the course with an 'A'
- Junior or Senior status
