WVU Extension hiring STEM Ambassadors for summer 2023
WVU Extension is currently hiring undergraduate and graduate STEM majors to serve as WVU STEM Ambassadors this summer ($100/day plus travel reimbursement). STEM Ambassadors act as science, technology, engineering and math instructors during the summer at 4-H camps and events across West Virginia.
Given training and materials, ambassadors will deliver pre-arranged STEM curricula to youth at 4-H camps across the state of West Virginia from May 21, 2023, to August 1, 2023. Other assignments may include state 4-H camps located at Jackson’s Mill, STEM outreach at National Jamboree 2023, and the State Fair of West Virginia in August in Lewisburg.
Room and board are provided while on assignment at camps, but ambassadors must be able to provide their own transportation to camps. This is a great opportunity for students to earn some extra money this summer, simultaneously earn i-serve hours for STEM outreach, and improve their teaching and leadership skills, all while spreading their enthusiasm for science.
More details and a direct link to the online application and position announcement are available on handshake or on WVU Jobs.
