WVU Health Sciences BeWell team welcomes clinical trainee

BeWell, a satellite office of the West Virginia University Carruth Center, will welcome a new clinical trainee this fall.

Sarah Sadler, a graduate student from Zeeland, Michigan, will serve as a graduate assistant providing mental health support to students enrolled in Health Sciences academic programs. As part of the team, Sadler will assist students with navigating personal challenges and developing more adaptive ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.

“By providing clients a safe and empathic space to share their thoughts, feelings and experiences, I can pursue my passion for promoting mental health and assisting individuals in living in ways that are meaningful and fulfilling to them,” she said.

Sadler is pursuing a doctorate degree in sport, exercise and performance psychology and a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling. She has obtained bachelor’s degrees in kinesiology and psychology and a master's degree in kinesiology, all from Michigan State University.

She contributes to numerous research projects and is a student representative for the Journal of Sport Psychology in Action. She has been a mental performance consultant for over three years and owns a mental performance consulting business, MindFlip Consulting.

BeWell provides mental health services to all students enrolled in Health Sciences majors, including undergraduate, graduate and professional programs, on the Morgantown Campus.
