WVU in the News: How adding jumping jacks can improve lesson plans – Studies show physical activity helps kids learn
West Virginia has the second-highest rate of childhood obesity in the nation, and adding more exercise to the school day could help lower that rate. Researchers at the CDC say that adding physical activity to the classroom can help close the gap for kids who aren’t getting enough exercise. Researchers from the WV Prevention Research Center led a study to explore this assertion further as the team worked with 33 schools throughout the state.
