WVU Science Policy Organization to host graduate fellows panel discussion

The WVU Student Policy Organization invites all WVU students to a virtual panel discussion, "A Day in the Life of a WV Science & Technology Graduate Fellow," on Wednesday, March 9, at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom.

Join Brooke Eastman, Tim Hoheneder and Rachel Hostetler as they discuss their experiences as members of the inaugural cohort of WV Science & Technology Policy graduate fellows.

A WVU Biology Ph.D. student, Brooke is studying carbon storage in forests and the effects of climate change. She is completing her fellowship placement in the Office of Delegate Evan Hansen with the WV Legislature.

Tim, a UNH Natural Resources and Earth Systems Ph.D. student, is completing a fellowship placement with WVU Energy Institute studying snow-based climate change and lending his time to analyzing Eastern European geopolitical developments.

Rachel is studying the diversity of neuron populations and their circuitry within the brain as part of the WVU Neuroscience Ph.D. program, and her fellowship placement is with WVU Federal Relations.

Learn how all three got involved in science policy and what they have gained from their fellowship experiences.
