Public Health

The minor in Public Health introduces students to the foundational principles and practices that promote and protect the health of individuals and communities. Students explore topics such as public and community health, epidemiology, global perspectives of public health, and social determinants of health. This minor complements a wide range of majors and prepares students to apply public health concepts in diverse professional settings.

Rural Appalachian Health Disparities

The minor in Rural Appalachian Health Disparities is designed for students who intend to address health challenges experienced in rural regions like Appalachia, whether as a healthcare provider, policymaker, advocate, researcher, or in some other capacity. Students will apply and contextualize their learning through a focus in community engagement, policy development, or research.
