What does public health mean to you?  

To me, public health is the concept of preserving and improving the health of individuals and the communities in which they live.  

Why did you choose to study public health at WVU?  

I chose to study public health at West Virginia University because of the culture of the program. The faculty are extremely supportive and passionate about helping their students learn and be successful.  

How have professors or faculty members made an impact on you while at WVU?  

Dr. Sarah Woodrum is very knowledgeable and successful. I look up to her and want to achieve the success she has in the field of health administration one day. 

What would you tell prospective students about WVU and the School of Public Health?  

The School of Public Health at WVU is a great place to further your education in a field you feel passionate about. You will be supported and guided by excellent faculty through your academic journey.  

What advice would you give to your freshman self?  

Always keep yourself organized. Write down all your due dates. Don't be afraid to reach out to your professors. Get to know them. Remember to take breaks and have fun.  

What do you plan to do upon completion of your degree?  

I plan on obtaining a job in the healthcare administration field. The specific area is to be determined.  

What is your favorite movie?  

“Mamma Mia!” 

What is your favorite music genre?  

Country or pop.  

What is your favorite place you’ve visited? 

Sunset Beach, N.C. I love the beach and this is where my family has always gone. 

What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not doing schoolwork? 

I like to hang out with friends and family.
