Dept. of Epidemiology and Biostatistics announces first two speakers for seminar series

The WVU School of Public Health Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics is pleased to announce the first two speakers for its 2023-24 seminar series.

The series will kick off with a presentation by Lindsay Morris-Neuberger, Ph.D., titled “Communication Research, Translation, and Outreach in Public Health Contexts” on Friday, Sept. 22. Morris-Neuberger is Woodburn Professor and Chair of the WVU Department of Communication Studies.

On Friday, Oct. 27, the Department will host Michael Stevens, MD, MPH. His presentation is titled “Primum Non Nocere: Infection Prevention in Healthcare Settings.” Dr. Stevens is the system healthcare epidemiologist and associate chief quality officer for infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship for WVU Health System and a professor in the School of Medicine Department of Medicine.

Both presentations will take place from 10-11 a.m. in HSC-North G17 and will be available on Zoom. Sessions will be recorded. All WVU Health Sciences students, faculty and staff are welcome to participate.

Each month, the Department will host an external speaker who will give a research presentation and meet with students and faculty across the department, school and university with the purpose of sharing ideas and encouraging collaboration and innovation.
