Dept. of Epidemiology and Biostatistics announces speakers for seminar series
The WVU School of Public Health Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics is pleased to announce two speakers for its 2023-24 seminar series.
On Friday, January 26, Dannell D. Boatman, EdD, MS will present "Using Audience Segmentation to Enhance Health Messaging and Support Research Dissemination." Boatman is a research associate, cancer prevention and control at WVU Cancer Institute.
On Friday, February 23, the department will host Nichole Michaels, PhD. Her presentation is titled "Integrating Overdose Harm Reduction into Drug Courts." Dr. Michaels is a principal investigator in the Center for Injury Research and Policy at the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and assistant professor of pediatrics in The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Both presentations will take place from 10-11 a.m. in HSC-North G119B and will be available on Zoom. All WVU Health Sciences students, faculty and staff are welcome to participate.
Each month, the department will host an external speaker who will give a research presentation and meet with students and faculty across the department, school and University with the purpose of sharing ideas and encouraging collaboration and innovation.
