Public Health professor appointed to Health Right Board of Directors
West Virginia University School of Public Health Professor and Occupational Medicine Residency Director Dr. Chris Martin was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for Milan Puskar Health Right. Martin also serves as the director of the WVU Health Sciences Center Global Engagement Office and a faculty member in the School of Medicine. He will begin his term immediately as he fills a vacancy between now and the end of the calendar year.
Martin, who has been volunteering with Health Right since October 2017 as a primary care provider, isn’t the only WVU connection to the organization. WVU Medicine health care workers are among the more than 200 volunteers at the organization, and WVU School of Nursing and School of Medicine students complete rotations at the downtown Morgantown clinic.
Milan Puskar Health Right provides health care at no cost to residents of West Virginia who are uninsured or underinsured. Each year, the clinic completes more than 28,000 patient encounters, including prevention, medication assistance and mental health services.
