School of Public Health announces new administrative appointments

The WVU School of Public Health announced the following appointments, effective April 15, 2022: 

Erik Carlton, DrPH, associate dean for professional programs and director of graduate studies, will assume the role of senior associate dean for academic and student affairs. In this role, Dr. Carlton will provide leadership of the School's educational mission in regards to excellence, program evaluation and quality assurance; student enrollment; and the continued maintenance of certification and accreditation of all educational programs.  Key responsibilities include: working to provide an efficient and service-oriented infrastructure for the academic programs within the SPH; leading, developing and mentoring employees who supoprt academic and student affairs; and planning and developing new academic initiatives as well as collaborative academic programs with other schools and colleges of the University. 

Scot McIntosh, director of career development and student success, will assume the role of assistant dean for student affairs. In this role, he will oversee admissions and enrollment while providing a holistic view of the student experience – from recruitment to alumni relations – and remaining dedicated to providing outstanding customer service to help ensure long-term student success. To that end, he will provide leadership in the areas of career services; student counseling, advising and coaching; alumni stewardship and engagement outreach; and information management pertaining to student, alumni and career-related resources. 

Roberta Mogyoros, senior business planning officer, will assume the role of assistant dean for business and operations. Serving as chief financial officer for the School, Ms. Mogyoros will consult with and advise the SPH senior leadership team on administrative and operational matters while working closely with chairs, directors, faculty and staff, as well as the Health Sciences Vice President's Office. Additionally, this role will oversee all finance-related activities in the Office of Health Affairs as it continues its rapid growth. 

Keith Zullig, PhD, will assume the role of associate dean for departmental affairs while retaining his current position as chair of the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. In collaboration with other department chairs, Dr. Zullig will annually assess strengths and growth opportunities for individual and collective chair development. This includes identifying professional development opportunities for chairs; providing administrative tools, templates, processes and other best practices to ensure chairs are able to fully and efficiently fulfill administrative duties; and providing guidance for strategic planning and first-line support for administrative issues.
