Welcome from the Chair

It is my great honor to welcome you to the Department of Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences (OEHS). OEHS is an exciting multidisciplinary program with an emphasis on occupational injury and illness, industrial hygiene, environmental health and toxicology.

Our location in West Virginia enables us to access one of the largest subsets of environmental and occupational health problems in the United States, which provides unique advantages in basic and translational medical sciences, as well as clinical treatments. Those in our department have opportunities to study and conduct research dealing with workplace and ambient environmental issues through collaborating with researchers not only at WVU, but also at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and National Energy Technology Laboratory, both located just minutes from campus.
