WV Division of Tobacco Prevention Evaluation

The WVPRC has been contracted to conduct an evaluation of four separate grant programs focused on tobacco cessation and preventing tobacco use. These grantees were funded by the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health's Division of Tobacco Prevention (DTP).

The grantees are charged with working with specific groups of people such as; African Americans, LGBTQ+ individuals, High School students, among others.

The purpose of the evaluation was to: demonstrate the degree of which these grantees completed their activities and their impact, to improve the implementation of future tobacco prevention and control programs, as well as increasing the visibility of DTP and the Bureau for Public Health among key stakeholders, communities and state and local leaders.

Additionally, in 2021, the WVPRC has been providing technical assistance to DTP in the development of evaluation deliverables relevant to their CDC funding.
