While donning the cap and gown signals the beginning of a new chapter, it’s important to begin developing and refining your professional skills long before you walk across the stage. The School of Public Health’s in-house career development team can help you identify your career goals and be prepared when the opportunities arise.

What We Offer 

Your resume is the lifeblood of your application.  It’s your opportunity to tell your story to potential employers.  Whether you’ve just started working on your resume or you have a well-polished document, you can schedule a one-on-one appointment to have your resume reviewed.  It never hurts to have another person take a look at your materials.

Career Counseling

Not sure where you are in the process?  Schedule a career counseling session!  These sessions provide an opportunity to sit down one-on-one to discuss what’s going really well or identify strategies to ease your current struggles.

Mock Interviews 

Nervous about an upcoming interview?  We can schedule a mock interview that will allow you to run through a staged interview to work though the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Interviewing is like most things in life, the more you practice, the better you’ll become.

Job Board 

Because public health is such a broad field, it can be tough to figure out where to search for jobs.  Start with our Public Health Job Board.  This one-stop-shop will be the place to go for identifying positions around the region, state, and country.

If you’re preparing to attend a conference or another event where you’ll be exposed to alumni or potential employers, make sure you have something on hand for them to remember you.  We can work with WVU Printing Services to help you acquire official WVU-branded business cards at a discounted rate so you’re prepared when the moment arises.
