SPH student to participate in Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol
Thirty-four students from WVU will take part in the 16th annual Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol in Charleston next week, including Grace Nowicki from the School of Public Health.
More than 90 students from 15 institutions, including WVU, are participating in the event on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in the Capitol Rotunda.
The event allows undergraduate students to present their discoveries in poster format and talk to legislators about their findings. The projects are original scholarly works, and the presenters design posters for a general audience.
Nowicki – a Scottdale, WV, native – will present her research, "Highlighting the Prevalence of Cardiovascular Risks Among Appalachian Children with Disabilities.” Her research mentor is Lesley Cottrell, director of the WVU Center for Excellence in Disabilities and faculty member in the School of Public Health's Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
