Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW): Change the Future WV

Description: This grant is 1 of 44 awarded nationally to prevent obesity and other chronic diseases through the implementation of policy, systems, and environmental changes at the community level. Change the Future WV focuses on 6 counties in the Mid-Ohio Valley region of West Virginia (Calhoun, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt, Wood). The interventions are designed to: (1) increase fruit and vegetable consumption by improving access; (2) increase physical activity by increasing school physical education, improving community walkability and trails, and providing enhanced community support; and (3) increase breastfeeding rates and duration by providing baby friendly hospital services and supportive worksite environments.
