Improving Child Care Environments to Reduce Obesity

Description: This intervention project seeks to improve the nutrition and physical activity environments in licensed child care centers through: (1) revising the nutrition requirements associated with the state-administered Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP); (2) training child care center staff in the “I am Moving I am Learning” physical activity curriculum: and (3) revising the state’s child care licensing standards to require adherence to the CACFP nutrition standards, strict limits on screen time, and at least an hour of daily structured physical activity.
