Planning an Evaluation of the WV CONNECT (SHAP) Program

Description: West Virginia University Health Research Center, in collaboration with the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (WVDHHR), will plan a comprehensive evaluation of the implementation and impact of the State Health Access Program (SHAP/WV CONNECT). The WV SHAP funding is provided to expand access to health care among WV’s working uninsured. The development of the evaluation plan for SHAP will occur by: collaborating with WVDHHR program staff, key partners, and administrative directors of eight primary care centers, to develop an evaluation framework to assess the implementation and impact of the SHAP/WVCONNECT program; and (2) collaborating with WVDHHR program staff, leadership and providers, to identify data sources, key indicators, and outcomes that reflect the primary goals of the SHAP/WVCONNECT program.
